A spectacular second half comeback saw Burnley rescue a point against Man City

City let a 2-0 lead slip at the Ethiad.

MAN CITY SQUANDERED a 2-0 half time lead as Burnley grabbed a late goal to nick a point at the Ethiad. After Chelsea’s draw with Southampton earlier in the day, it looked certain that City would reduce the gap at the top of the table to a single point after they pulled away in the first half.

Jesus Navas picked out David Silva in the box and the midfielder swivelled well before putting the home side in front.

And when Fernandinho doubled City’s lead with this cracking strike before the break, it looked like the three points were a formality for the reigning champions.

But George Boyd turned the ball home early in the second half to give the visitors some hope before Ashley Barnes thrashed home an equaliser nine minutes from time to snatch a point for Burnley.
