BAA-BAAS GAMES inevitably produce a moment of magic or two โ but it was one of the men in green who turned on the style last night.
Ireland trailed 22-14 with just 45 seconds remaining when Paddy Jackson touched down in the corner to cut the deficit to three.
Anxious to take the conversion and still leave time for the restart, Ian Madigan didnโt bother with the kicking tee and instead swerved a drop goal off the outside of his right boot and over the bar.
Delicious.
It didnโt make a huge amount of difference in the end as the Baa-Baas still won 22-21.
Madigan for the Ireland 7s team?
This is what annoys me about Madigan, he is exceptionally talented and self confident in his own ability, but itโs nearly 3 years since he broke through terrorising Pro12 defenses and he hasnโt progressed and produced consistently. Blame MOC, Gopperth or Madigan himself but itโs a serious misstep that someone with much talent wasnโt able to grow into the Sexton shaped vacuum left at Leinster, now Sexton is back and we are couple more seasons down the line itโs hard to see him ever delivering on his potentialโฆ.
Are the score going to do a piece on how awful madigan was last night? Or do they ignore his bad games
No cause he kicked a delicious drop goal so today he is man of the match..!!! Hope people enjoy watching it over and over and over again cause there wonโt be much else to see from Madzer..!! :)
Why not have another look at his knock on after that which ended the game? Or the gap he left for kirchners try
Donโt want to come across as a d*ck but he didnโt hit it with the outside of his foot. That would be nearly impossible! The flight of the ball just made it look like that.
Why is everyone so negative??? Amazing piece of play. He did not have an awful game either!
Support our Irish players. #fourproudprovinces
Well done Madigan
He was shit.
Easy to do in a game that didnโt matter.
Sure post your video on YouTube for all to see thenโฆโฆ
Good kick but he canโt get them when itโs important
