The legendary wrestler was pronounced dead after a car crash in Florida in May. However an autopsy report states that he died from heart failure.

LEGENDARY WRESTLER ‘MACHO Man’ Randy Savage was dead before his car crashed into a tree in Tampa, Florida in May, according to a medical report.

According to Tampa Bay Online an autopsy report said that Savage had an enlarged heart “with severe atherosclerosis of his coronary arteries”, and confirms that the cause of death has been ruled as cardiovascular disease.

The medical report states that Savage sustained no trauma from the car crash, and that he only had minor cuts and bruises.

William Pellan from the Pinellas-Pasco Medical Examiner’s Office in Florida said that the wrestler’s arteries were more than 90 per cent blocked. The report also said that a toxicology examination showed that there was nothing in Savage’s system that could have contributed to his death.
