Luke Marshall out of Ireland squad, named on Ulster bench

Darren Cave has also been released from the Irish squad for the Pro12 game.

LUKE MARSHALL HAS been dropped from the Ireland squad to face Wales for this weekend’s Six Nations clash.

The inside centre has been named on the Ulster bench for Friday’s Pro12 clash with Ospreys at Ravenhill. The likelihood is that Gordon D’Arcy will now be named at inside centre against Wales.

Darren Cave has also been released from the Ireland squad and will start at inside centre. Jared Payne joins him in midfield.

Ulster coach Mark Anscombe has named a strong matchday 23 for the visit of Ospreys. Craig Gilroy and Michael Allen start on the wing while Ruan Pienaar will wear the 9 jersey. Ian Henderson, also released from international duty, is named on the bench.

Ulster: R Andrew, C Gilroy, J Payne, D Cave, M Allen, J McKinney, R Pienaar: T Court, R Herring, J Afoa, J Muller (c), L Stevenson, R Diack, S Doyle, R Wilson.

Replacements: N Annett, C Black, R Lutton, I Henderson, N Williams, P Marshall, L Marshall, R Scholes.
