Luke Marshall will not feature against Wales. INPHO/Dan Sheridan

Luke Marshall out of Ireland squad, named on Ulster bench

Darren Cave has also been released from the Irish squad for the Pro12 game.

LUKE MARSHALL HAS been dropped from the Ireland squad to face Wales for this weekend’s Six Nations clash.

The inside centre has been named on the Ulster bench for Friday’s Pro12 clash with Ospreys at Ravenhill. The likelihood is that Gordon D’Arcy will now be named at inside centre against Wales.

Darren Cave has also been released from the Ireland squad and will start at inside centre. Jared Payne joins him in midfield.

Ulster coach Mark Anscombe has named a strong matchday 23 for the visit of Ospreys. Craig Gilroy and Michael Allen start on the wing while Ruan Pienaar will wear the 9 jersey. Ian Henderson, also released from international duty, is named on the bench.

Ulster: R Andrew, C Gilroy, J Payne, D Cave, M Allen, J McKinney, R Pienaar: T Court, R Herring, J Afoa, J Muller (c), L Stevenson, R Diack, S Doyle, R Wilson.

Replacements: N Annett, C Black, R Lutton, I Henderson, N Williams, P Marshall, L Marshall, R Scholes.

The new old enemy: 7 of the best Ireland v Wales clashes

Ulster captain Johann Muller will retire at the end of this season

Could see that coming. You can’t keep publicly attacking your players even if there is some truth to it.

Levy needs to follow Conte out of the door or nothing will change at Spurs. The fans have had enough of Levy and his way of running the club with profit above everything. It’s time Spurs had owners that were willing to spend what’s needed on the squad to put us in the position where we can actually win something. 22 years of Levy’s way doesn’t work, who else would still be in a job after 22 years of failure?
    Levy and Lewis OUT.

Please sign a manager with an attacking philosophy. I don’t mind losing 3-2 as long as we had a go and are entertaining to watch. But the last few seasons of watching Conte and mourinho park the bus tactics and try counter attack for a one nil win. No thanks. Done with that boring nonsense.
