Luke Fitzgerald in Leinster side to face Ospreys

Leinster and Ulster name sides for Magners League showdowns.

THERE’S SOME GOOD news for Leinster fans this afternoon as Luke Fitzgerald has been named at full-back in the side to face Ospreys tomorrow night at the RDS.

It will be his first start since he injured his knee playing for Ireland during the November series.

He is selected in a back three that also includes Shane Horgan and Fergus McFadden on the wings.

Brian O’Driscoll and Gordon D’Arcy form a familiar centre partnership with Jonathan Sexton and Eoin Reddan at out-half and scrum-half in a high quality Leinster backline.

Seán O’Brien will miss the visit of the defending Magners League champions as he recovers from a facial injury sustained against Connacht with Dominic Ryan deputising in the back row.

A decision on the involvement of Eoin O’Malley, who cracked a rib at the start of December, will be taken closer to kick-off.

Fitzgerald’s Ireland teammate Tommy Bowe has been rested by the vistors along with Mike Philips, Adam, Jones, Marty Holah and Alun Wyn Jones.

Ulster, meanwhile, have named a much-changed starting XV to play Treviso at Ravenhill tomorrow.

Paddy Wallace moves from out-half to inside centre, while Adam D’Arcy replaces Jamie Smith at full-back.

Andrew Trimble, who was rested last week, features on the right-wing.
