Luis Suarez admits bite and apologises to Giorgio Chiellini

The Uruguayan made the apology on Twitter this afternoon.

URUGUAYAN STRIKER LUIS SUÁREZ has today issued an apology to Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini for “the physical result of a bite in the collision he suffered.”

Using Twitter, the Liverpool attacker stated he decided to apologise after having the opportunity to reflect on the incident with his family in Montevideo.

The 27-year old has also promised never to be involved in another biting incident again.

The statement in full:

Last week Suárez had said:

“In no way it happened how you have described, as a bite or intent to bite.After the impact … I lost my balance, making my body unstable and falling on top of my opponent…At that moment I hit my face against the player leaving a small bruise on my cheek and a strong pain in my teeth.”
