LIVERPOOL HAVE BEEN dealt a major blow with the news that Brazilian midfielder Lucas Leiva will miss the next two to three months with a thigh injury.
The player suffered the injury in the opening minutes of Sunday’s 2-2 draw against Manchester City at Anfield and could now be sidelined until late November as a result.

“It is very unfortunate,” said Reds manager Brendan Rodgers. “He has worked ever so hard to come back and he has been an outstanding player for me and person off the field as well.
“The indications are two to three months. It is quite a unique injury at the top of his right thigh.
“He has had a scan and we will see a specialist this evening. We’ll see if it needs an operation or whether it is just recuperation.”
The 25-year-old had only just won his place back after missing most of last season with a serious knee injury.
“No words to describe my feelings at the moment,” he wrote on Twitter. “It is been hard to be positive but I am sure better days will come.”
