IT MAY BE Louis van Gaal’s first ever festive period in England but he was certainly in giving mood yesterday.

Before his Manchester United side took on Newcastle at Old Trafford, the Dutchman went to his dugout and began to hand out Christmas presents to the fans perched around him.

United then gave supporters the greatest present of all – a comprehensive 3-1 victory thanks to two goals from Wayne Rooney and one from Robin van Persie.
