Liverpool legend Graeme Souness taken to hospital

LIVERPOOL LEGEND GRAEME Souness was taken to hospital on Friday, according to media reports.

The 62-year-old Sky Sports pundit is understood to be receiving treatment in a hospital in Bournemouth near his home in Dorset, though no details of Souness’ condition were immediately available.

Souness won five league titles and three European Cups during his time as a player at Liverpool, while he also won the Coppa Italia during his time at Sampdoria and represented Scotland at three World Cups.

He enjoyed some success as a manager too, winning three Scottish titles and four League Cups as boss of Rangers, in addition to coaching Liverpool and Newcastle among others.

Since leaving Newcastle in 2006, he has worked as a pundit with Sky Sports and RTÉ among others.

Souness had a previous health scare in 1992, when he underwent heart bypass surgery.
