New Liverpool signing scores on his Reds debut in 5-0 win

Serbian midfielder Marko Grujić found the back of the net in the first half against Fleetwood Town.

LIVERPOOL CONTINUED THEIR preseason preparations this evening with a trip to League One side Fleetwood Town.

With those involved at Euro 2016 yet to return to the club, Jurgen Klopp got the chance to hand all four summer signings — goalkeeper Lorius Karius, Joel Matip, Marko Grujic and Sadio Mane — starting berths.

And although Danny Ings saw an early penalty saved after Grujic had been fouled in the box, the Serbian midfielder would score a debut goal just before the 20-minute mark.

The 19-year-old, who arrived from Red Star Belgrade for £5.1 million (€6m), received a cut-back from Alberto Moreno in a move also involving Mane, before stroking the ball home.

After the half-time break, 16-year-old academy product Ben Woodburn doubled the Reds’ lead and Lucas Leiva bagged a rare goal before Firmino added two more to make it 5-0 to the visitors.
