'We've Never Walked Alone' - Liverpool fans thank Celtic for Hillsborough support

The banner was paraded around Celtic Park before the Scottish champions defeated Aberdeen.

LIVERPOOL SUPPORTERS CARRIED a banner around Celtic Park this afternoon as they thanked the Hoops for their support.

The banner read ‘Thank you Celtic fans. We’ve never walked alone’. The two clubs have a close association — sharing the same ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ anthem. The Scottish champions have often been vociferous supporters of the calls, from Liverpool fans, for justice following the Hillsborough football disaster of 1989, in which 96 people died.

The banner was well received by the home fans as it made the rounds before kick-off. Celtic went on to beat Aberdeen 5-2 in the league clash, with Anthony Stokes among the Hoops goalscorers.
