LIVERPOOL DEFENDER ANDY Robertson said the Premier League champions are โnot in the title raceโ after a shock 1-0 defeat at home to Brighton.
Jurgen Kloppโs men struggled to break down the visitors and Steven Alzate scored the only goal of the game in the 56th minute.
It was Liverpoolโs second consecutive league defeat at Anfield after a 68-game unbeaten run at home and leaves them seven points behind leaders Manchester City, who also have a game in hand.
โBrighton were the better team,โ said the Liverpool left-back. โWe were hugely disappointing all over the park.
โYou have to give the team credit for playing well. They created chances, pressed us โ did everything we wanted to do.
โWe didnโt really do anything of note. With a long record of going unbeaten weโve lost two. When you donโt show up you donโt get results.โ
The Scotland international said Liverpool, who host Manchester City on Sunday, must find a way to get results.
โAny game against Man City is a big one,โ he said. โAs this moment stands, weโre not in the title race. We are seven points behind them and they have a game in hand.โ
โWeโre still a good team,โ he added. โWe donโt turn into a bad team overnight.โ
Cannot believe this, absolutely devastated. Rallying has lost a special, special person.
Desperately sad news. I remember sitting in Craigโs car when I was younger during the rally of the lakes thinking life canโt get any better than this. A legend, and a gent. RIP.
@Seรกn OโSullivan: lovely story, the best part being it wasnโt lost on him how much joy that would have brought to a young rally fan, coz he was probably also thinking life doesnโt get better than this. Taken way too soon, but through his infectious positivity and heartwarming raw emotion, he experienced more happiness than most of us could wish for, Iโm just glad that I got to feed off some of that. Rally Finland in 2016 was just so brilliant, he never let the politics dampen his enthusiasm for his passion, rest easy Craig.
Rip
Oh my god I am heartbroken, rip Craig, rest easy up there with Jaffa.
Absolutely devastating news, he has been a great ambassador for Ireland and motorsport. A really talented driver and a really decent person. Condolences to his family and friends, heโll be a massive loss to the motoring community. RIP.
