Well! What a hectic period! And would that could well have a huge effect on the table. As it stands, Wigan are all but securing their own safety while badly endangering Newcastle’s Champions League place while Bolton are climbing out of the relegation places, putting real pressure on Aston Villa. If it stays like this, there’ll be three points beetween Villa in 15th and QPR in 18th.

Arsenal may have drawn again, this time away to Stoke, but it’s actually strengthened their position. With two games left, their fate is in their own hands for third. Newcastle, meanwhile, have given Spurs and Chelsea a lifeline for fourth with their incredible 4-0 defeat – a result that puts Wigan in a very strong position. They’re level on points with Villa and three ahead of both QPR and Bolton, even if the latter two both have a game in hand.
