Garrycastle 1-7 Crossmaglen 2-19 (FT)

Hello, and welcome to our liveblog of the All-Ireland club final replay. We’re guaranteed to have a winner today, even if extra-time is necessary.

And we’re underway…

Dessie Dolan has given Garrycastle an early lead from a free.

Crossmaglen goalkeeper Paul Hearty has already been booked, having seemingly said something one of the officials didn’t like.

GOAL FOR CROSSMAGLEN!

Lovely pass through from Jamie Clarke to set up Francis Hanratty, who confidently strikes it into the corner of the net. It’s been a perfect start for Crossmaglen.

Dessie Dolan gets his and Garrycastle’s second point of the match.

However, Jamie Clarke, who’s looked very sharp, responds with a point for Crossmaglen.

Dessie Dolan has done it again for Garrycastle. He’s got all their points so far.

GOAL FOR CROSSMAGLEN!

Garrycastle fail to deal with a long ball upfield, and Francis Hanratty is on hand to score his second goal of the match.

A swift turn and shot by Aaron Cunningham from distance extends Crossmaglen’s advantage.

Great defending from Crossmaglen, as three players surround O’Shaughnessy and eventually cause him to concede possession.

Oisin McConville gets two quick points in quick succession for Crossmaglen, continuing the one-sided nature of this contest so far.

HALF-TIME: CROSSMAGLEN 2-8 GARRYCASTLE 0-4

Crossmaglen were accused of under-performing in the first encounter between these sides, but the same accusation can hardly be leveled at them this time.

They have absolutely blown Garrycastle away in this first half, and now look on course to claim the trophy, barring a dramatic comeback.

Garrycastle have seemed almost entirely reliant on Dessie Dolan. And while Dolan has scored 3 points, he needs more help from his teammates if his side are to have any chance in this second half.

And the second half is underway…

GOAL FOR GARRYCASTLE!

Gary Dolan has brought Garrycastle back into this game, with a goal that they desperately needed.

Francis Hanratty has just scored a very well-taken point to ensure Crossmaglen retain a relatively healthy lead.

Two points from McConville and one from Kernan extends Crossmaglen’s advantage, as they threaten to break away from their opponents once again.

Aaron Kernan strikes a point over off the bar, before Aaron Cunningham shows great movement to evade his marker and score yet another point for Crossmaglen.

Surely it’s all over now.

Patrick Mulvihill gets a half-chance  for Garrycastle, but he can only find the side-netting.

His side now look almost resigned to losing this game.

Two minutes remaining, but Crossmaglen might as well start celebrating now.

Aaron Kernan puts the icing on the cake, with his third point of the game from a free.

FULL-TIME: CROSSMAGLEN 2-19 GARRYCASTLE 1-7

CROSSMAGLEN WIN THE ALL-IRELAND CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP

Goalscoring hero Francis Hanratty, who wasn’t initially named in the starting line-up, tells TG4: “We just wanted to show the whole of Ireland what we could do.”

Hanratty adds that “football or the pub” is “all we do,” summing up the fanaticism for the game that his team clearly demonstrates on a regular basis.

Okay, that’s it from me for now. Thanks for reading. However, I’ll be back shortly to liveblog the Dublin v Mayo game, so stay tuned.
