Curran completes Limerick comeback against Dundalk

Stuart Taylor’s men earned three points despite falling behind to two first half goals at Thomond Park.

LIMERICK ARE UP to sixth in the Premier Division table after a second half comeback at home to Dundalk.

The Shannonsiders welcome Stephen Kenny’s side to Thomond Park for their first game after the mid-season break and had to do without the services of suspended pair Jeffrey Judge and Stephen Bradley.

Dundalk had John Mountney and Keith Ward missing through injury but went in front 8 minutes in. Chris Shields sent a cross to the back post where Kurtis Byrne caught it nicely on the volley.

That advantage was doubled a half hour later when Dane Massey step up to take a free-kick and saw it take a fortunate deflection past the helpless Barry Ryan.

It was looking like the Lilywhites were set to earn a valuable and well-earned three points as the teams went in for half-time but Shane Tracy struck from a set-piece on 55 minutes and Limerick were back in it.

Stuart Taylor introduced Rory Gaffney and the former Mervue United striker restored parity with his very first touch of the ball on 73 minutes.

Curran then completed the turnaround when Dundalk failed to clear a corner.
