Leinster welcome back several players for Cardiff trip

Joe Schmidt should have the luxury of calling up some of the internationals who missed out on the Connacht win for Saturday’s game.

LEINSTER HOPE TO call upon a number of their internationals for the RaboDirect Pro12 meeting with the Cardiff Blues on Saturday.

Isa Nacewa kicked all 15 of their points to claim a narrow victory over Connacht on New Year’s Day but despite sitting six points clear after nine successive wins in the competition, Schmidt voiced his concern about the lack of discipline shown by Leo Cullen and Isaac Boss, who were both sin-binned.

Cardiff Blues are unbeaten in their last four home games but have been poor against Irish opposition at the venue in recent times.

Cian Healy, Jamie Heaslip, Rob Kearney, Eoin Reddan, Mike Ross, Jonathan Sexton and Kevin McLaughlin are all in line for returns but Stephn Sykes is ruled out with a knee injury, according to Leinster’s wesbsite.

Richardt Strauss is a doubt after taking a blow to the face on Sunday but still could make the team, which will be named on Friday afternoon.
