Post-match, head coach Matt O’Connor initially said that both O’Driscoll and Fergus McFadden (who was also forced off injured) were fine, but when pressed on O’Driscoll, added:
“A bit of a bang on his neck and a bit of a bang on his head, but he’s down there [in the dressing room] and he knows exactly what he’s doing.”
In an attritional game, O’Connor said that Dave Kearney had “tweaked” his knee while Isaac Boss, who was pulled out of the squad before kick-off, suffered a minor aggravation of a calf injury.
