Shane Jennings and Brendan Macken back in contention for Leinster ahead of Scarlets visit

“There’s a couple of little little knocks but no one ruled out of contention for the weekend,” said Richie Murphy.

THERE WAS GOOD news from the Leinster camp today as they prepare for the visit of the Scarlets to Dublin this weekend.

The Blues trained at UCD earlier ahead of Saturday night’s RaboDirect PRO12 clash at the RDS.

Ireland international Shane Jennings — who missed Saturday’s win over Treviso at the weekend — is expected to recover from a shoulder injury and will be ready to go. Brendan Macken should also come back into the mix after missing out last time out with a hamstring twinge.

Kevin McLaughlin is a doubt however, with a knee injury, and Isa Nacewa is still recovering from an arm knock.

“Sick bay is not too bad,” said Leinster skills coach Richie Murphy after training today. “There’s a couple of little little knocks but no one ruled out of contention for the weekend. Not really worried about anyone. Dave Kearney has picked up a bit of a knock, his training is limited today, Ian Madigan is limited today.

“There are no injuries,  [it's] just a case of managing the players and making sure they are alright for the weekend, fit and ready to go by tomorrow.

“[Nacewa] is still in the same boat. He needs a bit of time and we’re not fully sure about how long that is going to be. Again, it’s just a case of giving him a bit of time. He’ll be back and back playing pretty soon, but more than likely not this weekend.”
