Dublin bounce back from Wexford defeat to keep provincial dreams alive

The visitors proved too strong for Laois at O’Moore Park.

Dublin 1-18
Laois 0-12

DUBLIN BOOKED THEIR place in the Leinster minor hurling championship semi-finals with a comfortable win over Laois this afternoon.

The Boys in Blue, who lost a thrilling extra-time game to Wexford last time out, proved too strong for the hosts at O’Moore Park as they ran out 1-18 to 0-12 winners.

The nine-point win keeps Dublin’s provincial dreams alive and they now join Kilkenny, Wexford and either Offaly or Westmeath in the last four.

Johnny McGuirk’s side led by five points at half-time and extended their advantage after the break with a second-half goal from David Keogh.

The Dubs are searching for their first provincial title at this age group for the first time since 2012 after Kilkenny lifted the silverware in each of the last three years.

The last quarter-final takes place tomorrow (1pm) as Offaly and Westmeath meet at Cusack Park.
