Wexford outlast Dublin in extra-time battle to book place in Leinster MHC semi-final

There were also wins for Westmeath, Laois and Kilkenny today.

THERE WAS DRAMA in the Leinster minor hurling championship this afternoon as Wexford edged past Dublin in a thrilling game at Innovate Wexford Park.

With the sides locked at 0-15 to 1-12 after regulation time, extra-time was required to separate the two with the hosts eventually prevailing by four points to advance to the semi-finals.

Dublin will now face Laois in the quarter-finals after the O’Moore County hammered Carlow in Portlaoise.

The other quarter-final will be between Offaly and Westmeath with the latter defeating Meath 1-17 to 0-15 at Cusack Park.

Offaly suffered a heavy defeat to Kilkenny, who booked their berth in the semi-finals with a resounding 3-25 to 1-13 victory.

  • Westmeath 1-17 Meath 0-15
  • Laois 3-20 Carlow 0-9
  • Wexford 0-21 Dublin 1-14
  • Kilkenny 3-25 Offaly 1-13
