Some remarkable statistics illustrate Leicester City's dramatic Premier League collapse

Relegation is becoming a real possibility as Claudio Ranieri’s side continue to slide.

IT’S NOT PLEASANT viewing, is it? The reigning Premier League champions are now just one point off the relegation zone after yet another defeat earlier today – this time to Swansea.

It was a fifth consecutive loss for Leicester City and the alarming statistics continue to roll in.

They have now made history: no reigning champions of England’s top division has ever failed to score in six consecutive league games.

They are the only team in Europe’s top 5 leagues not to score a league goal in 2017.

The club has not found the net in over ten hours of top-flight football. Their last goal came on the same day as their last victory – 31 December against West Ham, when Islam Slimani scored in a 1-0 win.

This is Leicester’s longest wait for a goal in 29 years.

On this day just twelve months ago, the Foxes were five points clear at the summit of the Premier League.

Now, relegation is becoming an increasingly likely scenario.

If they marketed themselves properly, bought a world class player or two and held onto to kante who knows what they could have achieved. Winning the premiership gave them a small window of opportunity to create a global brand, new Leicester fans world wide , create more revenue through shirt sales , advertising etc.. I think it’s as much the boards fault for not pushing on, as the players and management.

This excuse about losing Kante. Rubbish. They held onto all their other best players but they have all been shite. Had Kante stayed he would have sulked aswell. They didn’t recruit well enough, players lost the hunger, and Ranieri has lost the dressing room. All that is good about football has quickly turned into to all that is bad. Relegation fodder for sure
