NOBODY COULD HAVE predicted that Leicester City would be top of the Premier League table with one round of matches to go before Christmas.
Well, that may not be entirely true.
Back in August, a Foxes fan whose Twitter handle is @WillKirwaan_ stuck a ยฃ5 stake at 1000/1 on his club to be leading the race for the title come 25 December.
Lo and behold, Claudio Ranieriโs side (with more than a little help from Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez) are flying high and now just need to beat Everton away on Saturday or hope that Arsenal drop points at home to Manchester City on Monday night.
Wouldnโt ยฃ5,000 be nice around this time of year.

Do teams like England and France actually care about this competition or is it just for small teams??
@buck turgidson: Both events are Rugby Europe Grand Prix. The world series for both men and women had a double header in paris 3 weeks ago
@Bob Joe: for the Rugby Europe Grand Prix England and France send development sides, as their main teams participate in the HSBC World Series in both Menโs & Womens. The world series is finished for this season, the Paris event (the weekend after Ireland Menโs recently won bronze at Twickenham as an invitational side) was the last Round. But you may see one or two players from the World Series squads beef up both for final rounds of the Grand Prix England added experienced at least two (Olly Lindsay-Hauge & Richard deCarpentier) to their squad last weekend. The success at Grand Prix level is great, but World Series is another level altogether and we donโt have the depth (yetโฆ) if we lose a couple of our best playersโฆ.
Please stop comparing rugby to this gimmick.
@Cormac ร Braonรกin: there are very obvious comparisons to make though, Cormac.
