LeBron James nails buzzer-beating lay-up to clinch OT win

King James capped off this triple-double performance with the game-winning point in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals.

THE INDIANA PACERS’ Paul George looked all set to upset LeBron James and the Miami Heat in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals but ‘King’ had other ideas.

With two seconds on the clock in the fourth quarter and the Pacers 92-89 down, George received a pass 29 feet from the basket, set himself and deposited a three-pointer to send the game to overtime:

The Heat, NBA champions in 2012, were temporarily jarred but trusted in their on-court leader, James. The league’s MVP charged the basket and drop off a devastating, buzzer-beating lay-up to clinch the game 103-102:

Speaking after the match, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra told the Pacers to buckle up for a topsy-turvy series. “Welcome to the Eastern Conference finals,” he said. “Back and forth the whole way.”
