LeBron James is Sports Illustrated’s Sportsman of the Year 2012

LeBron becomes the first NBA star to win the award since Miami Heat team-mate Dwyane Wade in 2006.

2012 HAS REALLY been a good year for LeBron James. First he got that little NBA ring thing that he was so desperate for; then another Olympic gold medal; and now he’s been named Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year.

It is the 18th time that LeBron has been on the cover of Sports Illustrated, but this one is special. He becomes the first NBA star to win the award since Miami Heat team-mate Dwyane Wade in 2006.

In addition to his first NBA ring and second Olympic gold medal, LeBron was also named NBA MVP for the the third time and NBA Finals MVP. Not too shabby.
