Shane Byrne talking to students in St. Kevin's College, Finglas.

We took Ireland rugby star Shane Byrne back to school to learn about CPR

The former Ireland international learned the importance of CPR at St. Kevin’s College this week.

TWICE IN HIS playing career, Shane Byrne was involved in games where CPR was needed to save a life.

The first time he saw CPR in action, it was a fellow player who required treatment. The second time, a member of the crowd benefited from a quick response.

So if anyone knows the importance of learning CPR, it’s the former Irish international.

This week he travelled to St. Kevin’s College in Finglas to learn the key skills needed for CPR — including how to use a defibrillator — and chat to students about his rugby career:

I love that guy, and I simply must know where he gets his hair done. Joking aside, I do think it’s a good idea getting CPR into schools

Great idea, bet the kids all went “who?” When they were told!
