TWICE IN HIS playing career, Shane Byrne was involved in games where CPR was needed to save a life.
The first time he saw CPR in action, it was a fellow player who required treatment. The second time, a member of the crowd benefited from a quick response.
So if anyone knows the importance of learning CPR, it’s the former Irish international.
This week he travelled to St. Kevin’s College in Finglas to learn the key skills needed for CPR — including how to use a defibrillator — and chat to students about his rugby career:
Bank of Ireland took their name off the Leinster jerseys for their Guinness Pro14 semi-final win over Munster and gave the Irish Heart Foundation the opportunity to appear there for a day.
