After getting the better of city rivals Roma in the Coppa Italia final, Lazio decided to milk their first domestic silverware in four seasons for all it was worth.
So they let the pain of defeat fester for a little bit and then, just when Roma thought they were out of the woods, thousands of Lazio ultras turned out for a mock funeral on Saturday.
The attention to detail was admirable. They printed funeral notices, the coffin paraded through the streets was draped in a Roma flag, and fans dressed up as as priests and mourners took centre stage in the ceremony.
