Mark Lawrenson went Full Partridge in a failed Autobahn joke on the BBC

Good one, Lawro.

DIDI HAMANN IS having a great World Cup.

Fresh from his stint on RTÉ, he appeared as a pundit on the BBC this week. There, they helpfully reminded him to take it easy when driving home.  You know, because Germans are mad for speeding on the Autobahn and Hamann only moved to England in 1998.

Anyway, Mark Lawrenson saw his opportunity to lob in a ‘classic’ gag after hearing the funny foreign word… it didn’t go well.

‘In the early stages of the World Cup it was okay to wear an Argentina jersey in the street…’

Oh dear… Jimmy Kimmel went to ask some Americans how Landon Donovan performed at the World Cup
