Mackin's wonderstrike to Kelly's cracker - Ladies football Goal of the Season nominees

Dublin duo Sinéad Aherne and Sarah McCaffrey, and Cork’s Sadhbh O’Leary also feature.

THE CURTAIN CAME down on a highly entertaining All-Ireland senior ladies football championship in Croke Park two Sundays ago as Dublin were crowned champions.

It was a championship to remember with no shortage of excitement, excellent football and of course, impressive scoring.

TG4 have released a video showing some of the best goals hit, and are asking for people to pick their Goal of the Season.

In it are five contenders, each brilliant in their own way.

Armagh’s Aimee Mackin lit up Nowlan Park with an expceptional strike back in August, and everything about is top class — the ball in from Caroline O’Hanlon, the turn, the perfect finish.

Grace Kelly’s sublime effort against Donegal has also been tipped as one of the best. The Mayo forward gathered the ball out wide, and her electrifying pace had her in on goal to send a rocket into the top of the net.

Dublin duo Sinéad Aherne and Sarah McCaffrey — with one of her All-Ireland final goals — also feature, as does Cork minor star Sadhbh O’Leary.

After watching all five, which goal do you think should win?

Poll Results:

Sadhbh O'Leary (All-Ireland minor final - Cork v Galway) (998)
Grace Kelly (Mayo v Donegal) (213)
Aimee Mackin (Armagh v Kerry) (206)
Sarah McCaffrey (All-Ireland senior final - Dublin v Mayo) (122)
Sinéád Aherne (Dublin v Kerry) (31)
