Kukri announced as official kit supplier to the GAA
The deal paves the way for the company to supply inter-county teams.
KUKRI IRELAND WERE today awarded a licence to make playing kit for the GAA, a move that could see the firm produce inter-county kits in the near future.
The firm, best known for their manufacture of rugby and cricket clothing, have a factory in Lisburn and — thanks to today’s deal — hope to double their workforce to 24 in 2014.
Speaking at the announcement, Terry Jackson, General Manager of Kukri Ireland said:
“This is huge for us and we are very proud to be associated with the GAA, one of the most influential sporting bodies in the country. We already have long established partnerships with numerous clubs here in Ireland including camogie and LGFA and this is the icing on the cake.”

GAA President Liam Ó’Neill added: “[Kukri] are an Irish company who plans for further expansion and we look forward to them bringing their expertise and attention to bear on playing gear for football and hurling teams.”
Formed in 1999, Kukri already have a number of sporting partnerships in Ireland including All-Ireland ladies football champions Cork, Ulster Rugby, Ulster Hockey, Glentoran FC and Belfast Giants ice hockey team.
