This Kobe Bryant statue is the weirdest thing you'll see today

What?

KOBE BRYANT HAS a large fan base in Asia. During NBA off-seasons it’s not unusual to see the LA Lakers star on promotional tours of China, Japan and beyond.

One place the 35-year old is especially loved is Taiwan where this statue has just been unveiled.

We’re no experts on art but we know when things are weird.

The sculpture, part of a wider basketball related art exhibition, features Bryant being attacked by a black mamba snake – in homage to his nickname – which is biting on his Achilles tendon, the injury which forced the 16-time All-Star to miss the first 19 games of last season.

Oh, and he’s in the nip.

We would have all been better off if this guy had been our coach at u12

Not old enough for an Irish driving licence, this 16-year old will be in F1 next year
