West Brom complete £7m signing of Kieran Gibbs from Arsenal

Gibbs supported Arsenal as a boy and made over 200 appearances for the club.

ARSENAL’S RUMOURED EXODUS has begun with the departure of left-back Kieran Gibbs to West Brom.

The 27-year-old England international has signed with Tony Pulis’ men in a deal worth £7m, having made 230 appearances for his boyhood club since making his first-team debut just under a decade ago.

The Arsenal academy product thanked Arsene Wenger for giving him the opportunity to play for the club he supported as a child, while also exclaiming his delight at the opportunity to begin a new chapter with the Baggies.

“Firstly, I would like to say how delighted I am to sign for West Brom,” Gibbs wrote.

It has been an amazing journey to play for my childhood club since I was 14. I would like to thank Arsene Wenger for giving me the chance to start my career and fulfil a dream!

“Thank you to all the fans, the Arsenal staff and especially my teammates who have been there during the special moments and have helped me through some tough times.

“Now it’s time for the next chapter with West Bromwich Albion and I can’t wait to get started with the boys!”

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Alexis Sanchez and Shkodran Mustafi are all rumoured to be nearing the Emirates exit in what’s been a tumultuous summer for Wenger’s men, who have lost two of their opening three Premier League fixtures.
