'If ever a man was going to win a free, it was Kevin Walsh' - Galway Bay FM capture shock comeback

Ollie Turner was in flying form describing the new Galway boss’ return to action.

LOCAL RADIO IS still the heartbeat of the GAA as Ollie Turner of Galway Bay FM proved this weekend when he captured the surprise return to playing action of new Galway football boss Kevin Walsh.

His club side, Killanin, beat Moycullen by 0-13 to 0-10 at Tuam Stadium to clinch their second intermediate county championship but the three-time All-Star’s return to the field was an even bigger surprise.

With just over five minutes to go, Killanin midfielder Eamon McDonagh picked up an injury and had to be subbed off.

Turner describes the scene perfectly:

“Guess who has come down to the sideline, taken off a black cap and is about to come into the county final. You won’t believe this… the Galway football manager is in the game.”
