THERE IS A new big 3 in the NBA as Kevin Love has taken his talents to Cleveland to join Lebron James and Kyrie Irving. Despite Cleveland drafting a player with a cathedral high ceiling at number one this summer in Andrew Wiggins, since the return of Lebron, many thought the youngster would be a trade chip rather than a future teammate.
Today, that thinking was confirmed as Cleveland traded Wiggins, last year’s number one draft pick/future bust Anthony Bennett and a first-round pick in 2015 to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Kevin Love. For those unfamiliar with Love, he is a monstrous talent who averaged 26 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists last season. Not bad all-round skills for someone who is 6ft 10.
But his huge numbers aside, Kevin Love has been in the league six years and has never made the NBA playoffs. Sure, his teammates weren’t good, but in a sport where only 10 men are on the floor, that is a tough feat for someone as talented as Love to achieve. And Love’s new teammate in Cleveland, Kyrie Irving, is another who has unquestionable skills but still is waiting for that playoff push.
There are questions, but Lebron James makes all his teammates better, so the thought of what he could do with two talents like Love and Irving is frightening.
I know there aren’t many Miami Heat fans but imagine if you were one of the two. From having your own big 3 to Lebron creating another one elsewhere. I can guarantee you Lebron won’t take part in something like this in Cleveland.
