COLORADO RAPIDS PICKED up a much-needed win at home to Houston Dynamo in the MLS last night.

With the sides level at 1-1 thanks to successful penalties by Vicente Sanchez and Brad Davis, Sean St Ledger burst forward and played a one-two before crossing for former international team-mate Kevin Doyle, who found the back of the net with a diving header in the 80th minute.

The victory over Owen Coyle’s men wasn’t enough to take the Rapids off the bottom of the Western Conference but they are now just two points adrift of last night’s opponents.
