Generous London-based benefactors have donated a whopping gift to Kerry GAA

Kingdom chiefs have received a cheque for £243,000.

YOU MAY REMEMBER that we told you during the summer about Kerry GAA’s massive fundraising efforts in the United States.

Sporting luminaries such as Usain Bolt, Rory McIlroy and Henry Shefflin donated items which helped to rake in an estimated €1m from events in Boston, Chicago and New York.

The Kingdom’s tentacles spread far and wide, evidently, as the London-based Irish World reports this morning that generous benefactors have stumped up an estimated €330,000 to aid the building of Kerry GAA’s new centre of excellence.

The Kerry Association in London held its annual dinner dance in Cricklewood last weekend, where a cheque for £243,000, or roughly €330,000 going by current exchange rates, was handed over.

Nice work if you can get it!
