SHAMROCK ROVERS HAVE confirmed that defender Ken Oman has re-signed with the club for the 2013 season.

The 30-year-old joined the Tallaght side in February 2011 and will now enter his third season with the Hoops.

“I’m glad to have signed back with the club. Last season was obviously very disappointing for us and I’m pleased to have to chance to be part of the squad again next year as we look to put that right,” Oman said.

“Having signed back, I’m now looking forward to the new season getting started and helping he club get back to where it should be.”

Oman started his career with Bohemians in 2001 but, having lost his place in the Gypsies’ team, moved to Derry City for two seasons in 2006.

He returned to Dalymount Park for another three-year spell in 2008 before moving across the capital.

Meanwhile, Cork City have confirmed that former Republic of Ireland international Colin Healy will return to Turner’s Cross next season.

Manager Tommy Dunne said: “Last year maybe didn’t go as well as he would have liked from a playing point of view due to a couple of injuries, but I am hopeful that Colin will be fit and well for next season and am confident he will bring a lot to the table.”

Derry City winger Stephen McLaughlin will travel to Nottingham Forest for a medical on Tuesday, the Londonderry Sentinel reports.

“I go over on Tuesday, but nothing has been agreed yet,” stated McLaughlin.

“It has been a long couple of weeks, not knowing what was going to happen, but hopefully now things are moving and everything will be sorted out.

“It would be a nice Christmas present, but I’m going over for talks on Tuesday and see what happens from there.”
