Taylor won a unanimous points decision against Mira Potkenon of Finland in Keszthely, Hungary this afternoon.
Ireland’s Olympic champion will now face French fighter Estelle Mossely in the 60kg final tomorrow. Mossely, who won EU gold in the 57kg division in 2010, scored a controversial split decision win over British hopeful Natasha Jonas in today’s second semi-final.
Tomorrow could be a day of bumper success for the Irish team with Leanne Murphy from Carrickmacross in contention for a gold medal of her own. Murphy beat Dainjela Vernic of Croatia in the 81kg semi-finals today and now faces a test against either Sylwia Kusiak of Poland or Turkey’s Emine Bozduman.
