Ireland beware: Kasper Dolberg rediscovers form to put champions Feyenoord to the sword

The Danish wonderkid has found his scoring touch just in time for the World Cup play-offs.

DANISH WONDERKID KASPER Dolberg came off the bench to net his first two goals of the Erdevisie season as Ajax romped to a 4-1 victory over Dutch champions Feyenoord at De Kuip.

With his first brace since March, the 20-year-old rediscovered his goalscoring touch just three weeks before he’ll likely line out for Denmark against Ireland in the World Cup play-offs.

The powerful frontman had previously gone 13 club games without scoring – his sole goal since the final day of the 2016/17 domestic campaign coming for Denmark away to Kazakhstan in June.

Today, however, he put a further dent in Feyenoord’s title defence with two fine finishes after coming on for fellow goalscorer Klaas Jan Huntelaar in the 71st minute.

Denmark host Ireland in Copenhagen on Saturday 11 November, with the sold-out return leg in Dublin on Tuesday 14 November.
