ROSCOMMON STAR KAROL Mannion has announced his retirement from intercounty football.
The news is a major blow for Rossies boss John Evans who will now plan for a league campaign without the experienced midfielder.
The St Brigid’s man bows out after 12 years with the county side which saw him him a Connacht title and an All-Ireland junior title.
He was man-of-the-match in the win over Ballymun in the All-Ireland club decider at Croke Park. He will continue to line out with the Kiltoom outfit.
