'The humiliated one': Monday's back pages make for pretty grim reading for Jose

Yesterday’s defeat at Chelsea was Mourinho’s heaviest Premier League loss.

JOSE MOURINHO REPORTEDLY slammed Antonio Conte for humiliating him on the touchline yesterday, but the great source of embarrassment was his team’s performance.

Goals from Pedro, Gary Cahill, Eden Hazard and N’Golo Kante did the damage as Mourinho endured a nightmare return to Stamford Bridge.

The Old Trafford club have experienced one of their worst starts to a season. Only once before in 2014/15, under Louis van Gaal, have United collected fewer points (13) after their first nine games of a Premier League season than this campaign (14).

Sunday’s thrashing by the Blues at Stamford Bridge was also Mourinho’s heaviest Premier League defeat as a manager. Only against Barcelona in November 2010 did he lose by a greater margin in all competitions, a 5-0 defeat.

And today’s newspapers make for pretty bleak reading for Man United fans and their manager with a similiar theme across all the back pages.
