DUTCH KICKBOXER ANDY Souwer believes that Saturday night’s UFC 194 will be a ‘fairytale’ end to the career of Jose Aldo.
The 29-year-old Brazilian is the only featherweight champion the UFC has known as he sits undefeated for 10 years.
Souwer is a regular training parter of Aldo’s at Nova Uniao in Rio and was in the octagon sparring with him minutes before he sustained the rib injury that caused him to pull out of UFC 189.
Asked by MMAplus.co.uk’s Andreas Georgiou whether Saturday would be the last time we see Aldo in the octagon ‘win or lose’, Souwer said:
“To be honest, yeah, I think so.
I think he’s done with it, and ready. Whatever his thinking is, or his decision… it will be good for him.”
Naturally, Souwer believes Aldo’s career in the UFC will end in victory
“Of course, man. Jose Aldo is pound for pound (best) fighter in his weight class and he will win this time also.
“It will be a fairytale story, of course, but I’ll go for it. I’ll put my money on it.”
