So it must have been quite a shock for his corner when Conor McGregor knocked him out within 13 seconds of their much-hyped, long-awaited fight in Vegas over night.

Way overdue. Aldo underestimated CMG. Genuinely believed the stuff he was saying about him, and believed he was unbeatable. I suppose you would if you were unbeaten for 10 years. Anderson Silva springs to mind. This loss will show how good he is. It’s all about the bounce back.

He didnt trip, he was caught with a hook to the jaw and dropped, he was already out before the hammer blows, if you look at him on the ground he makes no effort to block them. An experienced fighter like that would only fail to protect his head if he was incapacitated. Maybe it was just too fast for you to see it.

Not only did he not trip, he was taken our in the exact way McGregor said he would be. Overloading on his right leaving his face exposed to McGregor’s left. It was either over confident or under confident, but either way it looked like an amateur fighting a professional.

There was a great article on here about the stances adopted by both fighters and it was pointed out numerous times about how exposed Aldo can be when he launches his attacks.

There was never any question about who would win this fight. Aldo may have been the best ‘orthodox’ fighter out there, but CMG has spent years developing a style that the orthodox cant compete against. Love him or loathe him there is no denying his skill and power.

Actual Vegas odds had McGregor as the underdog and Aldo as the favourite. This was on screen as the fighters were being announced into the ring, did you even see the fight??
Are you asking me did I see the fight? I did see it, and I don’t know anything about bookies odds over there, I was looking at the odds available in the Irish bookies, the worst odds available here were for an Aldo knockout in round one…

His pay has to be made public to the nevada officials to sanction the fight mcgregor gets $500,000 as a payday win lose or draw aldo got $400,000 , he would have got $500,000 if he won , but also a non disclosed payment will be made to both fighters from the box office of $10.1m and ppv’s purchased it’s speculated mcgregor will get a bonus somewhere in the region of $3m
