ALTHOUGH HE WILL be Rio de Janeiro this weekend, Conor McGregor must make do with sipping piña coladas at UFC 179.

The Irish featherweight, currently ranked fifth in the 145lbs division, is sure to be a particularly interested spectator when champion Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes face off in a title fight for the second time.

Two years ago, the Brazilian took out Californian wrestler Mendes with a devastating knee to the head in the first round and most are expecting something similar on Saturday.
