Jordan Spieth lines up potential winning putt - but weather stops play before he can take it

Spieth and Younghan Song are duking it out at the Singapore Open.

JORDAN SPIETH WILL have just one job when he returns to the Singapore Open on Monday morning — to take care of the five-foot birdie putt that could potentially win him the tournament.

Spieth was on the 18th green and about to finish his round on Sunday when the horn sounded for a weather warning. The threat of lightning persisted throughout the afternoon and, after hanging around for a few hours, the world number one was forced to call it a day.

A birdie at the last would take Spieth to 11-under-par and give him the outright lead in the clubhouse, one shot clear of the finished Wen-Chong Liang.

If he makes the putt when play resumes on Monday (11.30pm Sunday Irish time), Spieth will then have to wait for Younghan Song to finish the final two-and-a-bit holes of his own round.

Song led on 12-under through 15 holes when the horn sounded, but faces a tricky 12-foot putt to save par on the 16th.
