Jonny Sexton will play in the top 14 next season, but not necessarily for Racing Metro - L'Equipe

Clermont, Toulouse and Toulon are rumoured destinations.

A REPORT IN the French newspaper L’Equipe claims Jonny Sexton’s move to Racing Metro may not happen after all, despite strong rumours indicating that the fly-half would move there, after his impending Leinster departure was confirmed on Friday.

However, the paper’s story suggests that Sexton will definitely play in the top 14 next year, with Clermont-Ferrand, Toulouse and Toulon all thought to be possible destinations.

The Irish international is also quoted as telling one of his relatives that he will play in the French league in “blue, yellow or red”.

In addition, Racing Metro are understood to have been put off by Sexton’s high wage demands, with their club president describing reports that they had signed the Dubliner as “bulls**t”.
