Jonjo Shelvey scores against Liverpool then gifts them two goals

The former Reds midfielder was certainly throwing himself about the Liberty Stadium.

IT TOOK A FORMER Liverpool player to break their proud record of not conceding a goal in the new Premier League season.

Jonjo Shelvey capitalised on a horror show in the Reds defence as they failed to clear a Swansea attack on four occasion. Mamadou Sakho was left standing as Shelvey powered into the box, saw his first shot blocked by Martin Skrtel and lifted the second attempt over Simon Mignolet.

The midfielder looked as if he did not want to celebrate the goal too much but his new teammates had other ideas:

Shelvey may have been feeling guilty about the celebrations as he handed Liverpool their equaliser on a plate. A horrendous back pass slipped straight into the stride of Daniel Sturridge, who finished crisply to make it 1-1.

Worse was to follow when he skewed a pass straight to Victor Moses, who ran 40 yards and hammered home a debut goal to make it 2-1.

The fun continued in the second half when Shelvey set up Michu, who swept home to make it 2-2.

The game finished that way, ensuring Liverpool remain top of the league.
