Edward’s enormous mark of 18.29 metres has stood for 20 years, but watching American Christian Taylor he was made to feel like his WR was finally ready to tumble.

Taylor put down a huge distance of 18.21 metres between him and the board, noticeably leaving around 10 centimetres to spare as he launched.
Up in the press box, Edwards heart was skipping a beat and BBC’s cameras immediately panned to see him looking mighty relieved at the sight of the mark just behind the world record.
