STOKE FORWARD JONATHAN WALTERS believes Premiership and Championship clubs should look at Roy Keane for managerial posts that may become vacant in the coming months.
The Ireland international was Ipswich captain under Keane and told Sky Sports’ Goals on Sunday that the Corkman has more to give as a manager.

He said, “Jim Magilton and Roy Keane did wonders for me. The last year I was there I was captain. I enjoyed every minute of it.”
Walters added, “I always got on with him until I left (Ipswich). He didn’t want me to go.
“As a manager, I’m sure he’s trying to get back in there. To whatever clubs I’d say ‘take him, give him a go’. Different clubs respond to different managers.”
Walters also confirmed the unfortunate news that his Stoke and Ireland teammate Marc Wilson had broken his left leg during the 0-0 draw with Sunderland yesterday but insisted the defender was ‘trying to stay positive’.
The 29-year-old has made 60 consecutive Premier League starts for his club and says he is revelling in a utility role where he will ‘play anywhere’.
Asked about Stoke’s infamy for filling the box with big men for corners, throw-ins and free-kicks, Walters remarked, “We don’t really practice set-pieces.”
