Jon Rahm: won the long drive contest against Johnson but had to settle for second place. Eric Gay

Dustin Johnson hits drive 424 yards - and still comes up short of his opponent's ball

BOOM.

DOWNWIND AND DOWNHILL, the 12th hole at Austin Country Club is a hole that almost begs golfers to smash a massive drive.

With the WGC Match Play Championship on the line on Sunday night, two of the game’s big hitters, Dustin Johnson and Jon Rahm, didn’t disappoint.

Rahm set the standard with a monster draw which took a few nice hops down the hill and eventually came to a rest after 438 yards.

It made Johnson’s 424 yards look pretty tame by comparison, which is not a sentence we ever saw ourselves writing.

Two shots, a combined 842 yards – just another Sunday stroll for these boys.
