QB jumps into 23-stone teammate, bounces back to throw touchdown pass

Johnny Manziel can surely not claim to have meant this.

JOHNNY MANZIEL IS so good at heaving pigskin that supporters of his Texas A&M Aggies team have coined him ‘Johnny Football’.

The 21-year-old quarterback is destined for great deeds in the NFL, sooner rather than later, but he served up a treat in a college football bowl last night. Manziel threw for 382 yards, including four touchdowns as the Aggies beat Duke 52-48 in a humdinging Chick-fil-A-BOWL* classic.

Unintentional highlight of the night, however, was this keystone cops effort below:

Manziel, channelling his inner-Tim Tebow, hurdled a pile-up of linesmen and bounced off his own teammate, 23-stone Jarvis Harrison.

He quickly recovered his wits to fling a touchdown pass to Travis Labhart to put his team 38-24 up. That, we suppose, is why they call him Johnny football.

*Chick-fil-A Bowl was formerly known as the Peach Bowl before a change in 1998.
